Audacy Partners with GBS bringing MaxxCasting to WCBS-FM and WXBK-FM in New York

Audacy has partnered with GeoBroadcast Solutions to deploy MaxxCasting technology for two stations owned by Audacy in the New York Tri-State area: WCBS-FM 101.1 and WXBK-FM 94.7. The move is designed to improve reception and strengthen coverage across one of the nation’s most technically challenging radio markets.

Although both stations show strong coverage on paper, dense development and terrain across New York City can disrupt signals at street level, where most listening occurs. WCBS-FM broadcasts from the Empire State Building, while WXBK-FM transmits from Rutherford, New Jersey near the Meadowlands, creating different signal contours that can impact reception in key areas of the market.

By implementing MaxxCasting, Audacy aims to deliver more consistent coverage, helping ensure its programming reaches the full audience across the region and strengthening its competitive position in the highly crowded New York market.
