GeoBroadcast Solutions Forms National Advisory Board to Guide ZoneCasting Growth

GeoBroadcast Solutions (GBS) has formed a National Advisory Board to guide the company’s efforts in advancing geo-targeted broadcasting technologies and strengthening radio’s ability to serve local communities. The board will play a key role in helping broadcasters adopt innovations like ZoneCasting, which allows radio stations to deliver hyper-local content, enhance community engagement, and unlock new revenue opportunities.

The advisory board is co-chaired by two influential leaders: David Honig, President Emeritus of the Multicultural Media, Telecom and Internet Council (MMTC), and Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis, Jr., President and CEO of the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA).

Board Members include:

  • Tish Bazil, Senior Advisor to Dr. Chavis

  • Ryan McGinness, Senior Vice President at R&R Partners

  • Steve Roberts, CEO and Founder of Roberts Radio Broadcasting Company

  • A respected member from the financial community

Senior Advisors include:

  •  Ron Busby, Chairman and CEO of the US Black Chamber of Commerce (USBC)

  • Amador Bustos, President and CEO of Bustos Media

  • William Lacy Clay, US Black Chamber of Commerce (USBC)

  • Sherman Kizart, Founder of Kizart Media Partners

  • Jim Winston, President of the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters (NABOB), USBC Division

The mission of this board is to ensure that radio stations using GBS technology can deliver tailored messaging, emergency alerts, and public service programming that better reflects the needs of their local audiences, especially minority and underserved communities. Another priority is to establish protocols for broadcasters nationwide, enabling small and minority-owned businesses to leverage localized advertising opportunities without disrupting the integrity of a station’s main signal.

GBS recently announced that ZoneCasting is now active in 10 U.S. markets, with deployments beginning in Nevada. This milestone highlights the growing adoption of geo-targeted broadcasting, and the advisory board will help ensure its rollout aligns with best practices for community-focused radio.

By convening leaders from broadcasting, business, and advocacy, GBS is laying the groundwork for radio to expand its relevance in the digital age while remaining a vital connector for diverse communities.
