Audacy Expands Bay Area Presence with MaxxCasting Rollout on KLLC and KITS

Audacy has expanded its radio signal coverage in the San Francisco Bay Area by implementing GeoBroadcast Solutions' MaxxCasting system on two of its FM stations, KLLC “Alice @ 97.3” and KITS “ALT 105.3.” This deployment includes seven new booster nodes, increasing the stations' reach by approximately 800,000 additional listeners.

Notably, this marks the first use of MaxxCasting nodes in the South Bay, improving signal quality in areas like San Jose, Santa Clara, Cupertino, and Milpitas. Audacy had previously seen success with MaxxCasting in San Diego and continues to integrate the technology to enhance coverage and enable future geo-targeting.

MaxxCasting works by using a synchronized FM single-frequency network, similar to cellular infrastructure, to extend coverage and prepare for location-based broadcasting capabilities.
